Chapter President

Diane Henderson

Diane Henderson is an HR professional with 20 + years of experience in Human Resources with Educators Credit Union.  She has held a variety of roles from VP of Human Resources, Recruiting, Benefits, payroll, etc. She has a BS in Finance from UW Parkside and currently is SPHR and SHRM-SCP Certified. 

Diane started with the SHRM Racine/Kenosha Area (SRKA) board in 2016 holding the roles of Treasurer and Secretary. After a few years off, she has rejoined the board in 2023 as the Treasurer.  She lives in Kansasville with her husband and 2 teenagers.

Jane Kurylo

Zebra Technologies, Inc.

Jane Kurylo is an HR professional with more than 25 years of HR experience the majority of which has been in manufacturing companies.   Jane has served in HR management and generalist roles with a focus on talent acquisition, employee relations and engagement.  She also spent a few years working in Workforce Development.  She is currently employed by Zebra Technologies working as a Human Resources Business Partner at their Kenosha facility.

Jane has a BS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and holds the SPHR and SHRM-SCP Certifications. 

Jane was a founding member of SHRM – Racine/Kenosha Area (SRKA) in 2007 and has been actively involved in the Chapter ever since.  She served in numerous Board roles over the past 15 years and is credited with bringing technology and a full service website to the Chapter.  She served as President from 2017-2019 and more than doubled the membership from 72 to 179 during that three-year stint.  She attributes this to crafting a hardworking and dedicated Board who planned and executed fantastic programming, networking events and partnerships with the local business community.  She returned to the President role starting in 2023 and will continue through 2024.

Jane resides in Bristol, WI with her husband and has two adult children.  In her free time, she enjoys traveling and listening to live music.

Sarah Reuter

Avidity Science LLC

Sarah Reuter is an HR Business Partner at Avidity Science, specializing in talent management and full‑cycle HR support across the employee lifecycle. With 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, her background is primarily focused on recruiting and onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, compliance, employee engagement and continuous improvement. Sarah also leads the Employee Engagement Team and contributes as a member of the Wellness Team, supporting initiatives that foster connection, recognition, and employee well‑being.  

Sarah began her HR career after completing three internships while earning her BBA in Human Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Her professional work has remained rooted in manufacturing environments, where she partners closely with leaders and employees to strengthen culture, streamline HR processes, and support organizational development.

In addition to her work at Avidity Science, Sarah is highly engaged in the SHRM community. Her involvement began as President of the UW Oshkosh SHRM student chapter and continued through to the Racine & Kenosha Area SHRM (also known as SRKA) chapter. She currently serves as President‑Elect for SRKA and as the College Relations Director on the WI State Council SHRM.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends—and doting on her two rescue dogs, Maverick and Willow.

Michelle Smith

Halpin Staffing Service

Michelle Smith has more than 20 years of staffing experience, she has been the managing director for the past 10 years at Halpin Staffing Services.  She is responsible for the performance of the operation through managing recruiting, payroll, employee liabilities and business development / marketing and all HR functions. She is passionate about developing and establishing a professional team focused culture through goals, motivation, and a positive work environment, culture comes from a team not an individual person.

Prior to Halpin Staffing Services, Michelle worked at St. Catherine’s Highschool as a Director of Human Resources and before that she was a manager/recruiter for QPS Staffing Service for 15 years.

To unwind Michelle enjoys reading (she will never turn down a good self – help book or action book) she loves cross fit, golf, pickleball, running and hiking and the summer she will do anything to stay active and destress.

Penny Hupp

Advocate Health

Penny Hupp is an HR professional with 20 years of experience, primarily within healthcare organizations. Currently, she holds the position of Director of HR at Advocate Health. She has a BA in Communications and Business, as well as an MSM in Management. Additionally, Penny has contributed her expertise as an Adjunct Instructor at Concordia University, where she taught HR Management, Communications, and Student Success Strategies courses.

Penny lives in Kenosha with her husband and has three adult children.  In her spare time, she enjoys her fur babies, reading, traveling and being poolside in the summer.

Corah Schopp

Corah is an accomplished Human Resources professional with over a decade of experience spanning the full spectrum of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, training, benefits administration, and employee engagement. Currently serving as the HR Manager at FISCHER USA, she oversees the entire HR lifecycle while driving strategic planning initiatives to support organizational growth and employee satisfaction.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and has earned a leadership certificate, further solidifying her expertise in guiding teams and fostering workplace excellence. With a passion for helping individuals discover their vocation and thrive in their careers, she is dedicated to creating meaningful connections and cultivating environments where employees feel valued and empowered.

Residing in Burlington, Wisconsin, Corah enjoys life with her husband and three young children (ages 7, 5, and 3). Outside of work, she is an avid enthusiast of all things food-related, whether it’s cooking, baking, or simply enjoying a great meal. Summers, road trips, good coffee, and a glass of wine are among her favorite things to do and enjoy.

Shari Karasek is an HR professional with more than 20 years of experience, the majority of which has been with Lee Enterprises. She has been a Regional Human Resources Director for Lee Enterprises, covering Wisconsin, Minnesota and Indiana. Locally, you will know Lee Enterprises as The Journal Times and Kenosha News.

Shari has a BS in Human Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and holds the PHR and SHRM-CP Certifications. 

Shari was a founding member of SHRM – Racine/Kenosha Area (SRKA) in 2007 and has been actively involved in the Chapter ever since.  She currently serves on the Board as Secretary. Prior roles include Foundation CLA, Diversity CLA, and College Relations CLA. 

Shari is a proud graduate of the Leadership Racine program and has devoted much time and energy to the continuation of the program over the years since graduation. Shari volunteers her time with Make-A-Wish Wisconsin.

Shari resides in Caledonia, WI with her husband. They have two adult children. Passions outside of work include cheering for her Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers, reading and creating art through paint by numbers.

Laura has over 10 years of experience in Human Resources in different industries including manufacturing, staffing, hospitality and professional services. She is deeply passionate about her work in HR and enjoys the ever changing world of HR and its practices. She is committed to continuous learning, staying current with new best practices, technology, and leadership skills. 

Laura lives in Caledonia with her lovable dog, Maestro, and her 18 year old cat, Lily. She enjoys cooking, writing, reading, photography and spending time with her husband, Brad, and family.
