The Six B’s of Balanced Leadership
Research shows that the very best leaders achieve and maintain a balance between two very important factors—results and relationships. In fact, a lack of balance between these two factors—with over-emphasis on one or the other—is a common derailer for leaders at all levels.
Many—perhaps event most—leaders have been promoted into their leadership roles because they were high-performing individual contributors. While an assumption is often made that high-performance skills will translate into high-performing leadership, this rarely happens.
Join us as we explore six leadership strategies that, together, can help you lead in a balanced and highly effective way.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be introduced to specific skills and strategies to drive results through people and enhance relationships with people.
Participants will strengthen their awareness of their own innate tendencies toward ‘nice’ or ‘tough,’ along with the impact these tendencies have on others.
Participants will participate in a variety of exercises, designed to bring practical, actionable elements toward enhancing ‘nice’ and driving ‘tough.’ A few examples include:
- Conduct honesty interviews
- Create an expectations charter
- Practice being curious through the art of asking questions
Participants will leave with a personal plan to put one of more of the six leadership strategies into practice.
