Emotional Intelligence Workshop
Special Afternoon Session from 2-5 p.m. followed by networking with cocktails and hearty hor's d'oeuvres beginning at 5 p.m.
Session will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in.
Can't make it to the session but want to join us afterwards for drinks and hor's d'oeuvres, we would love to have you!
Please note: You will need to purchase the book before the event. You do not have to read the book but you are asked to complete the on-line assessment, print your results and bring them to the session.
Session Description:
Tedi Winnett will facilitate a workshop for the SRKA members on the topic of Emotional Intelligence.
The workshop will include:
1. Review biological basis and business case for emotional intelligence
2. Four core EQ skills
3. Specific ways to practice and improve emotional intelligence
4. EQ Action Plan
5. Panel Discussion - Real world applications
Each participant will need to obtain their own copy of the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves prior to the workshop. Participants do not need to read the book and will complete the online EQ assessment and bring copies of their individual results to the workshop.
It is very important to purchase a new copy of the book as the code for the on-line assessment may only be used once. The assessment will take only 7-10 minutes.

Speaker Biography:
Tedi is Professor Emeritus with University of Wisconsin -Extension. She was the Family Living Educator and Director for Kenosha County University of Wisconsin-Extension for 30 years. Her program areas included leadership development, organizational development, strategic planning and community food security.
She also served as the Leadership Kenosha Facilitator for 10 years after having been one of the Founding Members for Leadership Kenosha.
Since retiring in the fall of 2017, Tedi founded Purple Lodestar, LLC and has continued to work as a consultant in the areas of organizational and leadership development. She is certified in Emotional Intelligence, Real Colors, and Communicating Across Generations.
Why the name Purple Lodestar? Anyone who knows Tedi knows that purple is her passion and a lodestar is a star that guides or leads – the North Star is a lodestar.
Tedi lives in Yorkville, Wisconsin with her husband on his family homestead -established in 1842. She has recently started as a volunteer tutor for the Kenosha Literacy Council. She also volunteers for the Farm Fresh Atlas of Southeast Wisconsin. Her activities include keeping up the 176-year old farmhouse and property, antiques, water aerobics and riding her new bike.
